I have been working on diversifying what I am producing in order to try and create a living for my family and I. It's pretty stressful to try and build something from nothing and it takes time. Lots and lots of time. So going into it with a game plan is crucial for a creator with a small following (if any at all). In this article I want to provide some ideas that I have implimented as well as some that I havent quite executed yet. Diverisification is key for creating a product or products that can be reached by all sorts of people with different interests.Â
Please help support TDPN by subbing to our locals community for only $3/month! Now back to the article:
STAY ON BRAND
If you are a gamer that talks some politics here and there. Don't stray too far off of what your shtick is. You can absolutely change up the type of content you are doing but be aware of how you are introducing it to your existing audience. Too drastic of a change and the supports will feel confused and perhaps not want to support you since you aren't too sure what it is you are providing as it is.Â
PLATFORM YOURSELF
Yes, it is annoying to have to manage multiple social media accounts. Having to learn how each one of them works can be exhausting and time consuming. In order to grow your audience you need to engage and cast a wide net to show people your brand of content creation. The goal of this is to use a funneling process and get everyone to end up where you are producing your content. This doesn't necessarily have to be a single location now either. Today we have so many different alternation media platforms that can provide monetary support. Example, TDPN is now on Pilled.net as well as Rumble and X. Our main focus is to land everyone at Pilled or Rumble because those are the locations for the show streams, donation opportunities, as well as subscriptions. We also then advertise for more to come to our locals community to further support us and get more additional content (such as this article!!). So with that example we are funneling from our socials to our streaming platforms, to our locals community where all the content gets posted.Â
Some platforms to consider: X, gab, telegram, Truth, Rumble, Pilled, You can absolutely utilize tiktok, instagram, youtube, and facebook too... They just aren't ones I'd recommend really.Â
MONETIZE YOURSELF
X is a great platform that is now allowing creators of all sizes to share is ad revenue. I've done a couple articles on this topic already so I won't waste a lot of time talking about it, but I just got my first payment from X and for just posting on a daily basis for half a month I received $30. It's something you would have been doing anyway so why not get paid for it? I'm curious to see what January will bring since I'm already having a really high engagement month and I'm only 9 days into the new month. Don't miss out on opportunities like this to help suppliment your income. It's a grind at first but once you are in and generating income it's not hard at all to keep it up.Â
TRY NEW THINGS
This isn't to deviate from your brand of content. It's more about having multiple ways of delivering it. If you are a video streamer, perhaps have audio recordings as well. Perhaps like myself you enjoy putting words down in text. If that's the case perhaps doing a substack to go with your video stream adds another layer to your content that reaches a different type of audience member. Having those options for people really does help with the funneling process as well. I personally have been considering doing a substack page for these type of articles and writings that I have been doing. It's helpful having a following before you launch a new branch to your content but if you are just starting up, you have to stay with it and be consistent.
BE CONSISTENT
If you want to retain the viewers/readers/followers you've gained you will need to be on a schedule that others can count on. This means day, time, length of show, content of show, etc. All of these matter and will keep people coming back. The more people you have regularly viewing, the more they will help bring in new viewers as well. Plus the algorithm really LOVES consistency. Be aware of when your audience is engaging and be sure to engage with them as well. Without your audience you aren't creating anything. This is also why I don't like refering to viewers as "fans". To me that feels egotistical and I want to remain humble and creating good content. So always being consistent with your appreciation of your followers is probably the best kept OBVIOUS secret to all of this online content creator career sculping.Â
I can imagine this article also turning into a series of articles due to how broad the subject is and I'm only scratching the surface of it with this first article. As more ideas come to mind I will most likely create a part 2, 3, and maybe even 4 to this subject. It could turn itself into it's own book quite frankly. But for now, I hope you were able to gather something from this and help grown your own brand on content creation. Be sure to like this article and share it with anyone who could benefit from it.Â
